To break through semiconductor scaling hurdles, Samsung has announced plans for a $15 billion chip research facility. Bold R&D investments for next-generation products
The announcement comes after the business's proposal from July to construct 11 semiconductor factories in Texas for $191 billion.
In an effort to loosen restrictions on semiconductor scaling, Samsung revealed on Friday that it will invest around $15 billion in the construction of a new chip research facility in South Korea by 2028.
In order to promote research into new technologies, such as novel wafer production processes for memory and system semiconductors, Samsung stated the new chip facility will be constructed at the company's Giheung site.
